Better than the free version
At first, this game doesnt seem that different from the regular Rogue game thats available for free in the app store, but there actually many subtle but thoughtful improvements. Status bubbles for monsters, and better spell effects and combat effects all make it easier to figure out whats going on. The minimap allows for zoomed-in play without having to unzoom to get ones bearings. The context-sensitive and inventory-based actions are more intuitive for beginners, but not intuitive enough to excuse the games lack of instructions. Who are you trying to make this game for? Also, the transitions in the inventory screens are too slow. If I have to play a game over and over from the beginning, things better be snappy :)
