The best port of rogue I have played in a long time, too. The difference to the free port is that you can actually play it. Thanks a lot for this!

Nicely coded implementation of the old classic rogue, updated to use the strengths of the iPod and work around its weaknesses. Movement/Inventory Management/Looting/etc are all handled intuitively, and rarely (if ever) is there an issue with incorrectly selecting something that seems to plague so many other iPhone games. Hopefully an upcoming patch will allow iPod music to continue while playing (*nudge nudge*), but otherwise a nicely polished little time waster.

Rogue was my first RPG game eons ago and it is nicely redone in this app. True to the classic game in play but with some revamped graphics, the controls are easy to use and pick up. Great little game that has already kept me playing a few hours! Definitely worth the price if you liked this game back in the day.

Rogue is a cklasic game. I lost many hours playing this game in my youth. This version reminds me of a version I use to play on Atari ST. Well worth it because this is Rogue done right! Quick, Simple and down right addictive!

This game is an almost perfectly faithful recreation of the classic unix game without the frustrating random deaths and non-linear dungeon layouts. Whereas with nethack you could become endlessly lost in the same 4 or 5 levels, Rogue is very linear and much more playable. Definitely needs the ability to travel to a square by tapping on it though.

This old classic gets fantastically remade from the groud up. Randomly generated dungeons. Infinite replayability. Plenty of potions, weapons and monsters. A Vocal dev who updates quickly with users suggestions. What more could you ask for?

Until the update erased my current game..... Very disheartened as I have short moments to play every now and then. Took me a few days to get where I was and lost it all.

This is where Diablo got its roots. Rogue Touch (similar to nethack) is an excellent remake of the original. If you enjoy dungeon crawlers this is an awesome title. The remake gives it much more replayability as well. Now if we can just get sound it would be 5 star for sure!

A great implementation and its easy to lose track of time playing this. Love the hidden characters as well.

Ive been playing rogue for 25 years! This is the best version Ive ever played! Keep up the great work guys!!!!

I expected better. Touch controls are not evident. Game froze or freaked a few times. Nice try.

I love this game The contols are simple The idea is simple But the gameplay is almoast impossible to win!!! but in a good way The point is to proceede down 26 leves of dungeons, each ramping in difficulty. this is not an easy task GET IT, or you will be sorry

All I have to say is that it is really addicting and that it is a must get!

Very hokey. You cant go back up stairs, the screen shots arent the same as the game (similar tho), as a whole, not worth $2.

The BEST Rogue variation Ive seen in years, and for my iPod - awesome! Do NOT be deterred by some of these ignorant ratings of 1 star - obviously these are left by people who bought the game as an impulse buy and didnt know what type of game they were buying or simply didnt give it a chance. Of all the games on my iPod this is the one I spend the most time playing. While the graphics are simple they dont need to be an better because the game play is so good - and in fact the simple graphics allow me to play for hours without worrying about my battery, unlike so many other games.

Brings back the nostalgia from a misspent youth playing rogue likes. Also individuals rating this as 1 star obviously have no clue as to what a rogue like game is as this is the best one out there right now.

Having never played a roguelike game before, I havent been able to put this one down since I got it a month ago! At first glimpse, one would expect little to no depth or strategy, but theres a ton to be found. The fact that you can just pick up and play this game and know exactly what you have to do without having to remember what you did last, draws me to it every time. Get this game right now.

One of my fav games of all time is Castle of the Winds. Seeing this game really reminded me of that so I thought I would try it out. I find it to be very disappointing as it wasnt what I expected and I did not think it was worth the money I paid. I definitely think they should update this so it has more depth then just killing monsters and going down stairs. There is no stats, no specials for leveling. Also since there is no stats system it makes it difficult to figure out which weapons are better then others. Very annoying Having to press the rest button hundreds of times to regain health. Also annoying to move diagonally. If you are like me and like roguelike games with more then just pure mindlessness then I suggust staying away unless they update this alot with alot of new features. I suggust taking ideas from castle of the winds.

At first, this game doesnt seem that different from the regular Rogue game thats available for free in the app store, but there actually many subtle but thoughtful improvements. Status bubbles for monsters, and better spell effects and combat effects all make it easier to figure out whats going on. The minimap allows for zoomed-in play without having to unzoom to get ones bearings. The context-sensitive and inventory-based actions are more intuitive for beginners, but not intuitive enough to excuse the games lack of instructions. Who are you trying to make this game for? Also, the transitions in the inventory screens are too slow. If I have to play a game over and over from the beginning, things better be snappy :) Also, if you are a veteran whos looking for a more complicated dungeon crawl experience, you might want to check out the free iNethack.
